1971 Peterbilt 359 EXTD hood, 1693TA Caterpillar, RTO9513 Transmission, SQHD rear on Pete Air Leaf, aluminum frame with approx. 220" W.B.. This truck appears to be a factory original and is in very good condition other then frame corrosion and old original hoses that have deteriorated. The odometer reads in high 300K range and although I cannot vouch for that being orginal, the truck appears to have an extremely tight cab and doors which lead me to beleive it may well be! The truck has duel exhaust, steps, tanks, and has air conditioning.The previous owner stated that the truck was rebuilt bye Calgary Caterpillar in 1983, and that they ran it for another 10,000 miles before he stopped hauling from the states to Alaska. It also had air assist steering but the cylinder is missing. The engine runs excellent and the tranmission appears to be very tight. the frame is in fairly poor condition and would not be able to pass inspection in my opinion. If you are looking for a rare original extended hood that has not been modified this is it!!
